Person who's body is failing them. Amanda Langerak

Greetings Family and Friends of the RC Pythons,

I have just returned home from the Pythons Silly Sunday event where the end of Season awards were held in-front of a full-house at the Rising Sun Hotel in sunny Richmond.

I wanted to just summarise the awards and the presentation for the fans.

The supreme award is the Sandy Robertson Medal awarded to the RC Pythons player who receives the most player generated votes during the season. At the end of every game, players vote 3, 2  or 1 with 3 being the best player on the ground. Votes are kept locked in a safe for the duration of the season and then collated at the completion of the season.

Individual Performances of the Season

Runners Up:

Laura Hindson – Round 9 vs Mambas

Laura polled 17 votes in one of the most dominant individual performances of the season. Laura played in WD, WA and also GS and when called on to play rough and tumble netball against a physical mambas side did not disappoint. Laura was coming back from a few games off and was clearly the best on ground. Laura polled votes from every player including 5 x 3 votes. It’s so good knowing that the smallest player on the field has every one of your backs.

Amanda Parker – Grand Final vs Cobras

In a grand final where we won by a percentage of 600% everyone had to have played pretty well. I always feel as though Parker has more left in the tank, but on this day I didn’t. I think she was clear best on ground, and dominated both ends of the court. A dominant performance, especially seeing she played from the bench for 1/4

Winner:

Alanna Dunne

Prelim Final vs Vipers

We all know Alanna, understated, not cocky. Does not even think shes that good, even tho she is coming off a RC Netball Best and Fairest award. She can go about her business on any given week and still poll strongly. In the prelim final, where it matters most, she stepped up with amazing defensive efficiency. No fewer than 7 clean turnovers against the second best team in the league. Amazing performance.
